Quality affordable homes and rental assistance

Maintenance Requests

Maintenance requests are prioritized based on urgency rather than on a first-come, first-served basis. Please report maintenance problems when you first notice them so they can be addressed before they become more serious.

Routine Repairs

HAJC typically responds within 5 to 15 working days for routine and non-critical work orders. Examples include dripping faucets, partially inoperable interior doors, cooking range or oven element problems, and filter changes.

Emergency Repairs

Emergency work orders are addressed within 24 hours. Emergencies include conditions that threaten life, safety, continued occupancy, or may cause serious damage to the building.

Maintenance Emergency If you have an emergency maintenance situation, contact your site manager immediately if you have one and submit an online maintenance request.

Rent Payments

At most HAJC properties, rent is due by 5:00 PM on the 5th day of each month. HAJC does not accept cash or checks from individuals who are not members of the household.

If your property has a Resident Manager, rent may be paid at the onsite office. Drop boxes are also available at properties for after-hours payments. Refer to your lease for payment requirements specific to your property.

Inspections

HAJC inspects its units at least every six months to make sure they are being properly maintained by both residents and the Housing Authority. Residents with a Housing Choice Voucher or living in properties funded by outside agencies may have more frequent inspections.

HAJC will try to combine inspections whenever possible to minimize disruption to your household.
